Many movies have been filmed in the state of Maine over the years, and not even a pandemic would slow things down for the industry. Goodman said the number of films using Maine as a backdrop has been on the rise.

“…Although production was shut down between March and June of 2020, the number of productions that filmed in Maine in 2020 ended up being higher than 2019 as productions prioritized finding safe places to film. While productions are not required to register with the Film Office, contacts by productions filming or interested in filming in Maine have increased and remained steady.”
