Mark Goldstein, president and CEO of the film production services company Entertainment Partners, says there’s one role in Hollywood that has been in particularly high demand in recent years. “I get a call every day [asking] ‘Can you help me find a production accountant?’” Goldstein said. Opportunities abound for people with an interest in and an aptitude for budgets and filmmaking. And the good news is, you don’t need to be a certified public accountant to get into this lucrative role.

International Fly Fishing Film Festival returns to the Lakeside Theater in Rangeley

The International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4), the world’s leading fly fishing film event consisting of films produced by professional filmmakers from all corners of the globe showcasing the passion of fly fishing, returns on Saturday, Aug. 6,  at the Lakeside Theater in Rangeley. Maine Outdoor Film Festival tweaks formula for 2022

The Maine Outdoor Film Festival, promoted as an annual celebration of adventure, conservation and the arts, used to take place at venues across the state before launching a Portland flagship event in 2020. The annual gathering raises money for Teens to Trails, a Brunswick-based nonprofit that connects young people to outdoor activities.

A ‘Wicked Scary’ Movie Is Being Filmed In Greater Bangor

Many movies have been filmed in the state of Maine over the years, and not even a pandemic would slow things down for the industry. Goodman said the number of films using Maine as a backdrop has been on the rise.

“…Although production was shut down between March and June of 2020, the number of productions that filmed in Maine in 2020 ended up being higher than 2019 as productions prioritized finding safe places to film. While productions are not required to register with the Film Office, contacts by productions filming or interested in filming in Maine have increased and remained steady.”
